Quick Stop on Rocky

The cold weather stuck around, but at least the sun was out. I started fishing about mid-day hoping that the sun would warm the water above the freezing mark. But that didn't happen. Winter is here early.

The waterfall hole was half covered in skim ice. I pushed the skim ice downstream and started fishing the tail end of the hole. No luck sent me downstream to the boulder run. The run looked promising with a good green tint, but no fish. The water was dropping below 200 cfs and was at about 32 degrees. I headed back to the tail of the hole to try the slow, inside seam. I had a brief encounter with a skip jack -- a failed hook set brought the fish to the surface. But that was it. I decided to end the day early.
