Congratulations to Charlie for landing his first spring steelhead. Jerry and I had a great time helping Charlie land this monster female. It's always good to see the next generation of anglers on the river, and Charlie showed real patience and dedication tonight. A special thank you to Charlie's mom who patiently watched him fish for hours on the East Branch of the Rocky River. Since Charlie is only 13, my guess is she will spending a lot of time sitting on the bank between now and when Charlie finally gets his driver's license.
The future of our sport is good hands with folks like Charlie and supporters like his mother.
