The steelies were fresh and pink today on the Rocky River. The fishing picked up in mid-afternoon. The fish enjoyed a simple white minnow fly today more than egg flies. A lot of minnows were cruising in the shallows, enjoying the sunshine.The fish were stacked up in the tail of a big pool, some in the slower water, and some in the heart of the flow.
February has been particularly kind to steelheaders so far this year. Let's hope it stays this way.
